Vintage Omega Ladies’ Mechanical Watch – 1970s, Gold-Plated, Black Strap

EDITED. Editing my review because Mathilde addressed the issues that I had. Where I initially noted that customer service was great, I would say it ended great too. Mathilde is the real deal. I appreciate her working with me and would order another watch in the future from Finchley.

I really started off hopeful as customer service was initially great. I requested photos of the inside of the watch and they were sent promptly, along with a note that she had noticed the strap needed to be replaced so one would be ordered and included if the watch was purchased. I thought this was great and had received similar service with a reputable watch seller - buying a vintage watch where they replaced the strap before sending it out. So I was impressed initially.

I purchased the watch and received an email that she was waiting on the new strap and would then ship out. This was no problem which I noted, as I appreciated the new strap.

I received the watch and the strap was the same as shown. I tried to put the watch on and it immediately broke. I compared with the listing and it was absolutely the same strap and definitely broke with age. Also, the watch (mechanical) isn’t working despite the listing saying it does and the FAQs on the website saying they make sure the watches work and put in the listing if they aren’t working.

I took the watch to my local watch mechanic who is fantastic and he said it’s so dirty inside that it can’t work and now I’m paying an extra $200 to get it fixed. On top of that, I need a strap that was already promised to me multiple times. I feel like this was a bait and switch but am sincerely hoping it was just a rare oversight.

I emailed Mathilde but haven’t heard back and it has been days now. Really disappointed with this situation, I thought I had found another good source of vintage watches, which I love.
