Vintage 1959 Omega Ladies Mechanical Watch, Cal. 245, Ref 2670-2

Small Omega ladies' mechanical dress watch, circa 1959, on a black croco-embossed leather strap. Round gold-plated case with faceted lugs, housing a cream dial with gold-toned applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, and slim faceted gold-toned batons at the other hours. Gold-toned dauphine hands. Signed Omega beneath the applied Omega symbol at 12, and marked Swiss Made at 6.

The case is gold-plated 20 microns on a stainless steel back, as marked on the inner caseback. Inside sits the Omega calibre 245, a hand-wound mechanical movement introduced in 1959, 17 jewels with ring balance. Serial number on the movement dates production to 1959.

The movement is running and keeping good mechanical time. Service history unknown.

The watch is in good cosmetic condition overall. The dial shows a few small marks but no visible scratches. There are some signs of wear on the caseback where it has been opened for servicing, not visible on the wrist. The leather strap is vintage but aftermarket.
